Newest Encaustic, Two Egrets in the Salt Marsh...

This Encaustic Painting, " Two Egrets in the Salt Marsh" was inspired by the many hours I have spent observing and photographing the special birds that make the Marshlands their home. They nest in tall trees, often times alongside the Great Blue Herons. The Marsh is a rich source of food they these majestic birds. Egrets in the Marsh, whether you are in Maine, Florida or even California are always a magical moment in the natural world. They hang around Marshes and Estuaries and their white plumage is illuminated by the sunshine. I love the contrast of the reflection of the sky in the water and the Egrets grand stance in the Marsh.
