kdb.Wilderland.Maine...

I have been working on an online project, Wilderland.Maine.
This site is an online portfolio of my Maine inspired work, which features kdb Photographs, Acrylic and Encaustic Paintings.
I walk, explore and document the long fingers of land that reach down into the Casco Bay almost everyday in all weather. Deep snow and sunny bright warm days they are all inspiring. Maine is truly lovely in all seasons. My favorite area to document are the reaches that form the banks of the Kennebec River, in the area where this mighty river meets the sea.
This is a unique and spectacular region.

Color Block Series, Winter/ Spring

Icy Contrails and the Icy Marsh  36x48

 Snowy Big Marsh  48x24

Springtime Marsh   24x48
Maine is in a deep freeze at the moment. I have been spending alot of time walking and photographing the icy marshes. So cold but so amazingly beautiful. The colors in snow are infinite, this is the time of year when all I see is various shades of blue shadows reaching out across the land. Simply wonderful.
This Color Block series is a four season Sky, Marsh and Ocean, love note to nature. If you are interested in purchasing a Color Block painting, please send an email.

Color Blocking: The Marshes...

Color Blocking. Skies, Marsh/ Estuary. The dreamy almost undefined horizon and reflected colors are the magic of this series. The seasons, the light, the grasses and the tides are magical. I find that I always have something different to capture, every moment of every day. I am in love with this watery place and all of the Birdies who live there.
