Encaustic Sea Shells...

These past few weeks I have been creating a collection of Encaustic Shells, (Bees Wax + Damar Resin & Pigments) for the shop, Ornament, a Home and Garden Store in Bath, Maine. Gayle, the owner had a little opening on Friday Night. We had fun, and we were all talking about summer. (Shells will do that.)
A few have sold, so if you are interested you can contact Gayle and she will happily set something aside for you and if you live far away, she will even ship it to your door step!
These pieces are, 6x6, 8x8 & 16x16. Call for prices, 207.442.6636. This collection features Oysters, Mussels & a big Clam Shell.

I love you mussel shells! I specalise in graphite drawings and most of my work is marine based - and I love drawing clusters of mussels on the rocks!
Although I'm not skilled in encaustic art, you have inspired me to take some of my drawings in paint and colour!

Love your blog!

Julie,
Thanks for your encouragement.I would love to see your drawings, do you have a blog?
I think it is important to keep creating art. Encaustic is fun, and an interesting medium. The more I do the more I learn. I love to carve into the wax, to reveal the layers of colors I brushed on beneath the final top layer. It really is fun.

Beautiful shells!
Do you collect seashells when you travel? Are these Maine seashells? =)

Hi Karen!

Enjoyed meeting you last night - as much as I enjoyed seeing your gorgeous shells first-hand. I blogged about you on my blog! http://maineislandtreasures.com/news/

Warmly,
